In accordance with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA)Returns and Refunds Policy

 

At The Security Locker, accessible at www.thesecuritylocker.co.za, we are committed to ensuring that our customers are satisfied with their purchases. This Returns and Refunds Policy is in accordance with South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA).

 

General Returns Policy

We accept returns of products within 30 calendar days of the purchase date, subject to the conditions outlined below.

Reason for non refund as follows:-  

Products non defective in perfect working order but disputed by price are at customers discretion and purchase is purely at there own freedom of choice and not enforced by THE SECURITY LOCKER as compulsory to purchase.

 

Consumer Protection Act Compliance:

This Returns and Refund Policy complies with the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA), specifically:

Section 20: Right to return goods.

Section 21: Refund of price paid.

Section 22: Replacement of goods.

Eligibility for Returns

You may return a product if:

The product is defective, damaged, or not as described.

The product is unsuitable for its intended purpose and you have informed us of the intended purpose in writing before purchase.

The product remains unused, in its original condition, and includes all original packaging, labels, and accessories (where applicable).

 

Exclusions:

We do not accept returns for the following:

Products that are damaged due to misuse, neglect, or improper handling.

Products without proof of purchase (e.g., receipt or invoice).

Customized or personalized products unless they are defective.

Circumstances where a Refund may not be Required

Section 19(1): If the consumer has expressly acknowledged that the goods are acceptable, despite being defective.

Section 19(2): If the consumer has failed to return the goods within the prescribed time period.

Section 19(3): If the consumer has used or installed the goods, and the supplier has not been given a reasonable opportunity to inspect the goods.

Please note that these exceptions and circumstances may be subject to interpretation and may vary depending on the specific facts and circumstances of each case.

Software, licenses, or digital goods once accessed or activated.

Products and Warranty policies:

Warranty of Products is subject to manufacturers

warranty only and defective goods must have notification within 30 calendar Days of Purchase Date with, The Security Locker Online Store.

Rechargeable items (spotlights, headlamps, emergency lights) have no warranty, including factory-charged batteries.

Police telescopic batons have no warranty if misused or improperly handled. They are restricted for self-defense purposes and only available to buyers 18 years or older.

Wheel clamps are sold for retail purposes only, and the Security Locker is not liable for misuse or damage when applied to vehicles.

Product guarantees are based on the manufacturer’s policy, typically no more than six months.

Motorola two-way radios are not for commercial or security use, only for light-duty applications like hiking and events.

Electrical adapters (travel or surge protectors) have no guarantee if overloaded, as it can cause fire hazards.

Money counters have a warranty if used properly; misuse or damage during transportation is covered under the manufacturer’s warranty within 30 days.

Fire extinguishers must be checked regularly at local hardware stores for compliance; this service is not offered by the Security Locker.

Headlamp and emergency light LEDs have a non-replaceable lifespan.

Product returns within 30 days are allowed for malfunction if returned with all accessories and the original invoice.

Stun guns are restricted for use by individuals 18 and older and must only be used in self-defense situations. Improper use, such as overcharging voids the warranty.

How to Initiate a Return

To initiate a return:

Provide your order number, proof of purchase, and reason for the return.

We will provide instructions on how and where to return the product.

Pictures To Be Taken of The Returned Product in Broken or Defective State with Original Packaging visible .

Return Costs:

If the return is due to our error (e.g.,  incorrect  or defective product), we will cover the return shipping costs.

For returns due to change of mind, you are responsible for the return shipping costs.

 

Refunds Policy

Refund Conditions:

Refunds will be issued under the following conditions:

The product has been inspected and deemed eligible for a return.

Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receiving the returned product.

Refund Method:

Refunds will be made to the original payment method used at the time of purchase unless otherwise agreed.

For payments made via third-party platforms, additional processing time may apply.

 

Deductions:

We reserve the right to deduct a reasonable fee for:

Shipping costs incurred (if applicable).

Damage caused to the product due to improper return will have a  10% Handling Fee for returned goods with open packaging will be charged.

The Security Locker, its officers, directors, employees, and agents disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.

 

Limitation of Liability:

In no event shall The Security Locker, its officers, directors, employees, and agents be liable for any damages, including but not limited to incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, arising out of the use of our website or products, except to the extent caused by our gross negligence or intentional   misconduct.

 

Indemnification:

Customers agree to indemnify and hold harmless The Security Locker, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, damages, losses, and expenses arising out of or in connection with the use of our website or products.

Defective Products

If a product is found to be defective within the warranty period, you are entitled to:

A replacement product, or

A full refund, or

Repairs (if applicable and agreed upon).

Exchanges

We offer exchanges for products returned within 30 calendar days, subject to availability. If the desired replacement is unavailable, we will issue a refund.
